why 997 C4/C4S have unpainted plastic side skirts???

saw few on dealer lot today. why?! i don't get it. it looks like crap in black plastic unpainted especially on lighter colors.

the driving experience wasn't bad though. car felt not as heavy compare to the difference between 996 C2 & C4. the new sport exhaust sounds pretty good as well.

overall i probably still prefer the C2S over C4S. the wider *** is not a must & felt the fender line is not beautifully done. other than that i found it's not worth the extra money, at least in CA where the 4WD is a overkill.

anyone got lead of a open allocation for C2S? they're quite hot now my local dealer won't have a open slot to order til Feb maybe Mar of 06.

Arling, it's plastic because painting them is a Porsche option.

The reason is if they have that sideskirts painted, you can't find any different with C2S and C4S I also think porsche done poor job on the 997C4S, atleast it should have different front and rear bumper or different rear light like the 996. You can only tell the 44mm different if there was a C2S parked beside ....

Arling wants something he can mod the hell out of, don't you guys get it?
  • Can he mod the hell out of the F430, yes, will he? probably no, it's a Ferrari.
  • The CGT, nahh looks great as it is, it should stay stock.
  • CLS, well yeah, but meh..
  • The 997... muahahaha

Am I right Arbling?

I had those painted on my old Turbo. Came painted with the aerokit if you chose that option.

Arling, why don't you wait for either the turbo or the GT3. By the time you find an allocation that you can change to your specs, these guys would probably be out, or close to it anyway.
