Bad tank of gas?

Went to my customary Chevron gas station and put 10 gallons of 91 in my 06 3.6. In driving around I noticed the car was down on power. Stalled the car at a stop sign, restarted without problems, but when I pulled way the engine made noises I believe to be detonation sounds. In climbing the hills leading to my house I definitely felt the car was down on power.
Mechanically the car is a stock 6 speed with no problems of any kind before yesterday.
The station I use has a fairly new owner and the physical property itself shows lots of deferred maintenance, dirty and needing paint.

PS:
Last week the car backfired just once when I downshifted. Just 1 time. Taken together these may be signs of a big problem?? The backfire was before I added gas. Car has always run about 225+ degrees.

hot weather can cause stalls. i would try to burn up this tank in a morning or evening drive and fill up with another station's gas. you can toss in some techron or octane booster in the current tank if you want to help with the stall and backfire.

I would take it in to your dealer to be safe. They can likely run some diagnostics....let us know how it goes!

Thanks for all the replies. I drove my P to another Chevron station and added 10 gallons of 91 and drove about 30 miles. All of a sudden the car seemed like it had 20 more horsepower. Amazing what bad gas (i hope) can do to your performance. Car seems fine now. I didn't go back and ask the owner of the first station about the gas. He speaks very little english and would have denied that anything was wrong with his kerosene (I mean gas)

Good it's ok now. My friend in the 90's got gas at chevron and his car stalled. We both have the 2nd generation Supra, he had to go to the dealer to have his fuel line cleaned or flushed then it was ok. Maybe it has water residue or so, we dont know what caused it.
