I live at the top of a hill. The public access roads leading into my general area are full of blind corners. I have lived here almost 10 years. The road is narrow in most places and usually full of joggers, people walking their dogs, and bicycle riders, plus vehicular traffic in both directions.
Today shortly after noon it was raining very heavy combining with the fog to create dangerous driving conditions. I'm not really sure of what happened but I found out a young man (17-19) was driving a relatives mid 80s Porsche while transporting 4 other young people somewhere. He decides his superb driving skills far outweighed ttraffic condition, came around a blind corner at 60 mph+, went through a residential driveway and over the embankment winding up in a 200' deep canyon behind the house.

Apparently no serious injuries....a miracle. Because of the topography and gentle slope of the path he followed all survived.

I saw him talking to a police officer and he was laughing. I just couldn't believe it.
No real point to the story, other than my unwavering belief in the stupidity of people is confirmed once again.

 

Typical moron. Probably blaming the car. I have seen that happen numerous times. Also have to blame the relative for giving the idiot a Porsche.

 

This is typical and I have to say this is the type of P**** that will survive every knock he has , the sensible with some bad misfortune would not be so lucky ..

Glad to hear no one was hurt.

Gotta say from personal experience though, while it's easy to be judgmental (which I am as well), I remember having some reckless and stupid driving moments when I was a young kid as well. It's partly stupidity, but also ignorance of the potential consequences of bad driving. Hopefully this kid learns without hurting himself or someone else.
