Steering wheel swap from 991

Anyone try installing a 991 sport design PDK steering wheel on their 997.2? This possible?

Yep, lots have, is possible. Straight swap in a 997.2 I believe, but requires swapping the control module on a 997.1 Tip.

I did mine. It’s easy and it makes it look so much better.

Sport Sterling wheel swap

And what would a project like that cost? Is it user swap-able or do I need to take it to a shop?

took me 20 minutes. You can do it as long as you have the proper tools.

I did it on mine, but with a multifunction 991.2 steering week. Required a cable adapter and of course Airbag and new steering wheel. Couple of hours DIY, and then programming to incorporate multifunction control.

I gave up looking for a Sport 991 wheel for a decent price awhile ago. Yes I like the look better, but function was more important to me than the look. To each their own. Those of course do look nice.

I like the 991 wheel, but cant justify the cost. DCW can recover for way less

Which wheel is that?

It’s the 991.2 multifunction steering wheel. You can also get the GT steering wheel, which is slightly smaller, but this made a nice fit. I thought that my old steering wheel had the “silver” surroundings that was more appropriate for the 997.1, and that the more “chrome” silver finish on the 991.2 steering wheel was more in line with the similar silver that surrounds the PDK, as well as the cup holder co
vers and door handle pulls on the 997.2.
