Sport Mode Default Setting

Does anyone know if it's possible to have the sport mode selected as the default selection rather than having to hit the buton to activate it? IMHO it should be the default or only setting!

negb is infamous around these parts
I know that this is not possible, I mean to select it for you as user, but it is possible to do it through custom re-programing of the system.

Question: does anybody knows what for is this button ? webasto >? no ?

I've seen this discussed before and I think the answer has always been that you cannot force that to the default except possibly in some non-"street-legal" tunes.

That is likely due to lawyers and legal requirements for hitting EPA gas mileage requirements. I assume that Porsche wants the EPA's (and the euro equivalent) testing to be done with the non-sport setting to maximize fleet fuel economy. I further assume that the EPA requires the car to be tested in the same fuel economy configuration when started as it is when it is in customers' hands. All cars that I have familiarity with that have similar performance-related buttons (BMW, Corvette, Acura) all reset the same way on restart.

Always wondered this myself but never could find anyone that could make that change to default to Sport mode in the ECU. Probably a much tougher thing to do that tune fuel and ignition maps and in a different part of the ECU is my guess

We need to contact the engineer(s) in Germany who programmed the diesel defeat functions - bet they could do it.

Assuming they're still working and not facing jail time.
