997.2 shifting @ high rpms
997.2 shifting @ high rpms
Hello all, Although a long time admirer I’m new to the 997 world. I have an 09 C2S cab with a 6 speed. Although I love the car thus far, recent purchase, I’ve found something peculiar when driving aggressively. The car has passed two different Porsche dealer inspections with flying colors and has about 44k on the clock. When accelerating briskly and reving in close proximity to redline and shifting quickly I notice that the revs seem to hang for a second or so almost similar to a slipping clutch but different. I’m trying to understand if there may be an underlying issue or if this is intentional behavior which rather slows the acceleration process some. I do not believe there is any issue with the clutch as it grabs quite well except as otherwise described. Any experienced thoughts and knowledge are appreciated.

It’s actually after shifting. Once I let clutch out and have sent gas back to the floor, instead of the rpms continuing their climb they just sort of hang for a second at whatever rpm they were at when I let the clutch out. I’m wondering if this is PASM trying to prevent potential oversteer, I’ll have to try a quick acceleration/shift run with it off and compare.
