driving around with PASM on sport mode!!

i decided that driving with PASM on sport is hazardous to your spine. i turn on the sport mode for the purpose of the sports exhaust. i have not made a point to turn off the PASM switch. the ride is siginifcantly firmer and almost painful. i now have to remember to turn off the PASM. maybe it is meant for the track!!

I'd prefer that the car defaults to sport mode on start up. I enjoy the feel of a sports car rather that a GT/Lexus type of response. It's rarely an annoyance to me. I should have done ROW30 on my 996 in retrospect. YMMV I guess.

Taut yes, but I too prefer that tight responsive feel. The only time I drive off sport mode is when the wifey is along.

My wife loves the firm stiff ride,...but as for my car, she prefers PASM in normal mode!

I don't know about you guys, but whenever I drive around in sport mode and park, I smell clutch. I think I am harder on the clutch on starts because of the throttle response. Have you guys tried this....

Get your car up to about 75-80 in sport mode and turn it off. It's like hitting the brakes. Pretty cool stuff! I think it's definitely much more than just the remapped e-throttle curve. Porsche says that it actually alters the engine's parameters. IMHO, the car pulls harder with sport more at partial throttle than it does with sport off and WOT.

Can't say that I smell the clutch, but I realy enjoy the sport mode! I'm waiting for a hack to make it the default mode on startup. It's what a Porsche should feel like IMHO.

I love the track, and have raced for years, with usually at least one dedicated race car lurking in the garage. I never drive my 997S with PASM in the sport mode, although I do like the sound of the exhaust. Maybe it's just our roads here in Arkansas, which suck, but I have no desire to get beaten up like that unless I'm racing, in which case it's just greater feedback and it's welcome.

I always drive in sports mode, so my clutch foot doesn't have to adjust to two different throttle sensitivity.
