Real world 997S 0-60?
Real world 997S 0-60?
I know all things shouldn't be gauged on 0-60 times but with all the number fluctuations in car magazines these days, I thought I'd ask owners what they thought this car is capable of.

0-60 is not a very good guage of anything either other than how important ego is to you. Lap times are more important for determining a car's performance (and more importantly, driver ability). In my opinion anyway.
The official numbers Porsche gives are notoriously conservative as well.

I don't think too many of us rev to 3,500 and drop the clutch for the best 0-60 time.
When I let out the clutch and floor it from a roll with the PSM "OFF," I get good wheel spin (not too much that the tires are "lit up") and NO hop; a sideways pitch (again, not too much); and, damn good excelleration. The redline comes quick. I don't care how fast this is; but it is fast.

Take .2 secs off the published Porsche times and you'll have the right number. This is the same formula you can use for the 996 models too. So with a published time of 4.7 minus .2 you get 4.5.
