Lowering a 997S

How do you lower a 997S with PASM? Can you get just springs? Or do you need a lowering module or something?

Robert,
springs is the only way now. we've installed many of them with no problems. coilovers such as PSS9 that works with PASM will be another option in the near future.

Hmmm. How do coilovers work with pasm A? Or do they replace pasm?
And how soon? Maybe I'll wait on the springs.

Anybody wanna buy my H&R springs? I've gone back to stock. I've experienced too many problems with them/PASM.

Arling,

My understanding is that the 997S is lower in Europe than here in the US due to bumper height regulations. With all things being equal, couldn't I just get Euro OEM springs instead of going aftermarket?

I believe they are the same ride height. The Euro sport suspension is 20 mm lower, PASM is 10 mm lower.

I really like those 20" Sportecs but I am pretty certain that the car won't look right unless it's lowered.

What kind of problems are you experiencing, if you don't mind me asking?

I'll bet Bilstein makes the TechArt kit. As with the 996 application, they allowed TechArt to resell under their name before released as a Bilstein 'PSS9' kit.
Of course I could be wrong...

Multiple reasons, but the two main reasons are (1) that my driveway incline is severe and I'm tired of scraping the rubber spoiler and (2) when driving to Las Vegas my suspension bottomed out on a bump, PASM threw a fault, reverted back to normal mode, and wouldn't go back into sport mode without re-starting the car. The Porsche dealer said that even though RUF cut the bump stops as instructed by H&R, the new rear springs only allowed 3/8 of an inch of shock travel. This caused the shocks to bottom out, hence PASM throwing the fault. They said there wasn't enough travel left in the shock for PASM to do it's job. I'm sure this will start a debate but that's what the dealer (shop foreman) said. I witnessed the measurement of the shock travel and it was indeed as limited as he said.

By the way, gang, I'm selling these springs because no one else seems to be having these problems. I figure it's the same gremlins that always follow me. I don't want anyone to think that I'm just trying to unload some crap setup that might create problems for someone else. I have also had comments made to me that these can be purchased new for close to my price. That is why the ad says obo. The story gets even more hysterical when you consider what I paid in labor to have them switched out twice. They're not doing me any good sitting in my garage. Thanks everyone.

i think we share the same gremlins that's why i leave my cars stock.

robert,
i doubt it. if they're different the shocks will be different as well. that's my experience from 996 as well.
