What's a fair price for this 997?
What's a fair price for this 997?
Ok, I've been seriously thinking about selling my 997. Could use your collective expertise on what I could/should list the car for a private sell. I've looked in the ads to try and get an idea but my car is sparsely optioned so it's hard to get make a good comparison.
'06 Carrera Coupe with 4,800 miles
Arctic Silver
Black leather sport seats
Wheel caps with colored crest
Bi-Xenons
Sport steering wheel
Rear console in exterior color
Stickered at $76,815
Took delivery Oct. '05
Only mods are:
Lojack
H&R lowering springs
Clear sidemarkers
Clear bra
Car is located in Orange County, So California and in excellent condition.
I'm thinking about getting a GT3 or doing a Cayman S 3.8. I'd really like to sell the car, put the cash in the bank and wait for PDK but I don't think I can live w/o a P-car that long.
Anyway your help on setting a price would be much appreciated

I do not dislike the M6T one bit, in fact I dig how involving it is to match revs etc. I've been waiting for an F1 style tranny to make it into something I can drive everyday and PDK is as close as I'm going to get. Have you tried an A4 or GTI w/ DSG? Pretty cool technology. Having it as an option in a P-Car would be awesome IMHO.
I was hoping to get some input on what is a fair asking price on the car so I can start advertising it. I'll post some pics soon to see what you all think. No rush for me, I love the car! Just thinking ahead of what I want to wind up with and how much money I'll have available to get it.

well, a new one u can easily get about 7k off and up to 10k depending on location. so a fair bet is ur price subtract 7k and then 10% for first year usage, i say in the low 60s to mid 60s is a fair asking price. Shoot me a PM when u come up with final numbers

Hehe yeah Kevin I know! I love the car no doubt (what's not to like!), but I may have an opportunity to get something even more track oriented like a GT3 so I've got to explore the possibilties.
Cayman S w/3.8 or 997 GT3 wouldn't be a bad switch from a 997 Carrera would it?

After taking my 997S to the track for two times and watching other people on the track, I found that a better car usually does not necessarily mean better track time. I think that the driver's skill level is way more important.
