I know a few of you have complained about rattles in their 997's. I have one that seems to be coming from the chrono/wart or right behind it, possibly behind the center stack/PCM. I was wondering if anyone has had this same rattle and if they ever found out exactly what it was. Thanks in advance.

 

Take it in to the dealership and tell them you want the vaseline special. Should fix the problem right away..

 

Ive been having the rattling issue also. But if I take it in you guys think that they will say its becuase of the extreme volumn of my bypass pipes?

 

Let me clarify myself about vaseline. I had a rattle by my sport chrono so I took the car in. It cost me $350 for the rattle to stop and produce more rattles. Thats what I call the vaseline special as crod would say...lol...I know now that any rattles will not be repaired but I will just turn up the volume. So whoever negatived rep'd me no free surf lessons for you.

Thats why I deal with you and recommend you. I will stop dealing with you when I see you holding a vaseline bottle.

 

1. locate rattle spot.
2. hit firmly w/ palm of hand.

problem fixed, my C2S is currently rattle free. by the way, make sure you hit it like you hate it.

 

he has them. in fact, he gets them at costco, so he has dozens of them!

 

Thanks guys But as you know, my local dealer is a ******* and I wouldn't trust them to do anything but create more problems with my car. Not to mention they told me to get out and never come back after I told the GM to go F himself and then had him served

 

oh man what dealer was that!?!? PM if need be.. that's really too bad. I hate to hear that sort of stuff...

 

Thanks Alex - not much can be done though besides legal action. Dealers like Hoehn Porsche should have their franchise pulled. The way they treated me was nothing less than criminal.
