Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I installed mine after only 1500 miles or so. Have loved every bit of it. Not mentioned much here is that the EVO kit will give you significantly more power than the RUF kit - like 50-75 more hp. That is why I went with EVO instead of RUF. I think RUF must lower the compression ratio.

Anyway, my car has been dead reliable, and hauls ***. You're gonna love it.

who would you have do a local install? how would the warranty with RUF hold up? how if RUF going to back you up if you have some local mechanic installing a complex supercharger system.

let me put it this way, i had the EVO system installed and it's much simpler than the RUF. my local dealer's motorsports shop still screwed it up and it had to go to another EVO dealer. now it's just been peachy since then

now as invasive an install as the RUF is and with as much as it costs, i'm not sure i would trust the RUF install with anyone besides RUF.
Hard to argue against your points. I did do the conversion on an 06 C4S and couldn't be happier. It was done in Dallas - took about 3 weeks. I don't think RUF does any install except in their shop. However on warranty issues - for the simple stuff they'll talk to your local mech and if I feel comfortable with the local guy and RUF feels comfortable with the local guy, they'll let him do the work. If there was major work to be done I believe they would want the car back in Dallas or would send someone here - although after the last 5 weeks here in Denver, they'd have to like to ski. I know there are other just as capable, less expensive S/C kits available - I bought the RUF conversion for the reputation, warranty (24/24) and I do like the clean look in the engine bay. To each his own, right?

Absolutely! You couldn't have made a better choice. RUF quality and install are second to none. I think EVO and RUF are both awesome, with slightly different strengths and weaknesses, but great decision in my book.

you were the guy who posted the review on rennlist, right?

you are only the only guy besides the employee at RUF that I know of that has this kit. it is certainly an engineering marvel. they pulled out all the stops on this retro fit.

There was a guy with a 997s evo who had all kinds of problems, I think that is the same guy. Once again very dealer dependent. I know the rpm guys, they should do a more than adequate job for you, nobody else around here has any real experience with the sc's. TKX is probably better, but not sure if Taso does the sc's. GL, sounds great, can't wait to see it!

This was EVO's demo car. He bought it from EVO and lives near them. I would be suprised if he had any problems at all since it was done personally by EVO at their facility. If EVO can't get it right, then who can?

Maybe I'm thinking of somebody else then, but there was a dude who had a local installer do his 997s, had alot of probs as I recall. I agree the install is key.
