I'd agree that the most important thing to remember is to use the same dyno and try to get similar conditions for before/after dynos. I'm extremely skeptical of any one-off reading, but deltas tend to be more reliable IMO.

I have driven a RUF R Kompressor (996 C4 Tip Conv) for some time.
According to Ruf it has 410 hp.

My butt, whatever it is worth, told me it had around 450 hp.
100-200 km/h in the 8-9 second region (speedo), faster than the M5 E60 at least.

IMO horsepower isn't important, performance is.
Horsepower is nice to have in the bar, ordering beer and bragging. Performance is nice on the streets.

Hopefully we will be able to put a similar car into a Rototest dyno, probably the best around in the industry. See the picture and you get the idea.

well, RUF in the US wouldn't post anything when they started advertising and when I called they said the only way they would release it to me if i promised i wouldn't post it. i knew i couldn't keep that promise so i never got it. they appeared to be very secretive about it for some reason.

it would be nice to see an actual member not associated with RUF post some dyno runs on a typical US dyno. performance numbers would be great too if they could provide them. most of us don't own GPS performance datalogging boxes though.

fwiw, butt dyno opinions are worthless

Like I said, I did a baseline run, so whether I go with NA mods or an S/C, we'll have something to go by. I just wish I didn't have to risk $10K-$23K to find out...

Aren't we mixing up the dyno of their demo car with what RUF state in the catalogue?

As I said, the dyno sheets for all their cars are in their catalogues. It's for everybody and there are no reasons to hide it.

Can't see why it suddenly would become a secret on the other side of the Atlantic?

btw,
There's a RUF R Kompressor for sale in Germany. I really like the looks of it without the wing. It also think these are the new 20" wheels, haven't seen these on any other car.

As I said before, I want to see a dyno of car done here in the states. On a dynojet dyno by a customer. Not a factory job in Germany and published in a catalogue.

I'm not mixing anything up. RUF USA refused to post their charts or give them out. My question is why? They did the runs. Why not post them? I asked them and they wouldn't do it. This isn't something I heard about 3rd hand, I spoke to them personally. As a matter of fact, I believe it was Hans I spoke to if I am getting the name right.

I have never seen a dyno run from any private RUF car, anywhere.
Not their style.

I have never heard a customer complaining from getting less than they paid for either.

Looking at the performance the horses seem to be there, otherwise RUF R Kompressor wouldn't be as fast as a 996TT x50.

In fact, it's only 0.5 secs away from the 997TT up to 200 km/h.

I guess my butt dyno isn't too bad after all
