Im going to be running my car at famoso, just wanted to know what you guys think ill run at the 1/4. The track is about 635 above sea level. I have a 06 997S 6spd with fabspeed muffler bypass pipes and GIAC tune.

 

12.4 @ 114 is my guess.

Agree, bring someone along to run video. I think 12.55 ...which is still damn good... it's hard to nail the 1/4 perfectly. have fun with it.

 

hmm mid 12's seems kinda tough, I think im going to jsut aim for breaking into the 12's first. I got to get the launch down perfect and for some reason my car doesnt allow me to power/speed shift into second.

 

I need to pull off a pretty good 60 foot like a 1.8 in order to get times like that..

If so....the caravan up there next week should be fun, Drew always says it is I'm sure you'll get a good time and trap.....it's supposedly the best strip in SoCal area (LACR and Fontana just flat out svck) Should be fun.....especially with all the different cars there. I', hoping for 11's since the car can do that, but I'll be happy with lo 12's at anything over 118+ =)

What are some of the times people on this forum got with their 997S's,, I remember reading about a 12.7.

 

Well, the traction issue is already on your side, considering where the engine is. If you're willing to launch hard, and with good track prep, I believe you should be able to hit high 12's if it's your first time at the strip.

I say a 12.5-12.6 is doable at a good track with a good launch and good shifting

 

with a good launch and a 1.8-1.9 60', i think a 12.4-12.6@114-115 is def doable.

 

If my car wants to perform i know i can get great times, im not worried about my driving becuase i have alot of experience.. Except i dont get why my car has truoble getting into 2nd while in high revs.. While spirited driving when power and speed shifting come into play, the car jsut wont go into second inless i do a hard slow shift.
