OEM Alarm Going Haywire? WTF?

Hey guys. Everytime I "arm" and "lock" my 2005 Carrera with the remote on my key, the alarm starts to go off within 30 minutes or so... I checked both doors, the front hood, the rear engine cover, the glovebox, and I even checked to make sure the rear seat backings are locked in their upright position... Has anyone else had this problem? How do I get this resolved? I basically have to keep my car unlocked because the alarm will go off if I lock it...

I had this!

This happened to me for a short time but then stopped. It has done it once in the last two months, so not enough to warrant a visit to the dealer but still quite annoying.

This happened once for me while I was away from home...

Wife called that car alarm was going off in the garage while gardeners were leaf blowing but never happened again.

BTW is the hood open when you check on the car? I find it very easy to accidentally open the trunk/hood when you have your keys in your pocket. And I wasn't even taking Viagra at the time.

This has been a common problem among 997's as I read on rennlist.com. My alarm randomly goes off in the middle of the night, sometime every 5 minutes or so, it's quite annoying. Some say it's the interior sensor, and can probablly be attributed to a cell phone ringing inside or something.

How do I fix this problem? Is there a way to de-sensitize the sensor or something to that effect?

What did you guys do to get this to stop?

Try arming the alarm with the interior sensor off - I think you push the lock button twice - check the manual.
