Nicest Interiors in a 997
Nicest Interiors in a 997
Hi Guys,
I am getting ready to buy a 997TT in either Black or Slate Grey and I am thinking of either beige or creme color leather ... Maybe black, but I want to be different. I am thinking about a full Makassar Wood Trim, or full Sycamore wood trim, or full CF.
I am am looking for a jaw dropping interior.
Can you guys post pics of some awesome interiors so I can get some ideas?
Any guidance is much appreciated.

not really a big fan of tan interiors unless the car is white or black.
if it's between black and grey exteriors, go for the black. everybody has grey or some sort of variation of grey.
please stay away from any wood in a pcar. it just doesn't look right in a sports car.
again, just my opinion, but carbon fiber looks kind of wacky with any interior colors other than black or grey.
how bout black exterior, that maroon (don't remember what they call it) leather inside, and the aluminum trim. that would be different and look sharp.

love the interior of ur new car.
Here's what I did and I think it's the best looking interior available. It's a special order, but it was a ZERO cost upgrade. I got Cobalt exterior with black leather interior. I did upgrade the seats to manual sport seats and I spent $140 for the Fire Extinguisher that's required at PCA events. The kicker was the 022 option, Black dials. I can't tell you how many compliments I received already and people think it's some custom interior (I just keep it to myself that I only spent $900 for the seats and extinguisher).
Slate/Black interior, Red Stitching, Red Speed gauges, Red Seatbelts leather switch panel and rear centre console in Slate.

how bout some pics of the black gauges? i've never seen those before.
why did you go with the manual sport seats instead of the full power (adaptive) seats?

Sorry, but the picture upload is broken again... Look in the 997 brochure and you'll see a much better photo than I can take of the black dials.
Manual seats for many reasons... 1) I adjusted them once and that's where they stay - no need to constantly change settings, 2) HUGE weight savings by not having all of those motors, 3) Saved over $2200 as well. Some may say "but you can adjust the bolsters with Adaptive", but the bolsters are perfect for my body shape / size - so there's no gain for me.
I'm not into any deviated stitching, colored belts, etc. You pay Porsche your money and get nothing in return - A black belt works just as well as a red one, black zero cost stitching works as well as deviated stitching, etc.

I'm with you on the belts, stitching, etc... It just looks really cool. After spending 100 plus g's, what's another $1500 or so?
The question was why not power seats and I gave my personal reasons. Nobody else drives my car and I wouldn't trust it to a valet. Actually, here in central CT I don't know of a restaurant or other establishment that has such service.
As to the notion of "I already spent $100k, why not a little more for changing the color of thread..." that's a choice too. My choice was to go with what came standard in the car because I'm not interested in those types of choices.
I did pay Porsche for better seats... I also got heated seats because it's cold here in CT spring and fall, especially on 28 degree DE days when windows must be open (another reason to not get full leather is it would get beat on by rainy DE days). Another option I got was the Fire Extinguisher because at $140 it's a fantastic value considering it is required for PCA DEs.
With Porsche to each his own. This forum tends to encourage big spending on options and I was advocating "simple can work very well too". Back to Porsche basics in a way, where the performance of the car trumps luxury interiors.
