Find another dealer. Anybody with any experience can quite easily identify the source of a misfire....especially with all the sensor reporting. I have no idea why you would pay for cam allignment and all thise sensors as these can easily be monitored for proper operation without touching the engine. Sounds like you are simply providing training for your dealer.

Nice article in this month's 911 magazine on the EVO car that Todd drives - since 911 caters to an international readership maybe they should have put a warning in to only install in the states.

maybe it's not the kit and it's their mechanical skills instead. i don't really know much about the porsche mechanics in south america and greece to say for sure. there are a lot of variables here. i think it's tough to put anything on EVO entirely without knowing the full story.

or they could have bought the RUF. however, after duties, shipping, and the expense of flying RUF techs around the world, i'm quite sure the RUF kit would have been even more cost prohibitive than it already is. didn't paris say he's got something like $25K USD into his EVO kit at this point. since the RUF starts at $25K, i wonder what that would have ended up costing....

although in Paris' situation, i'm not sure why he's even screwing around with a supercharger. his parents obviously have tremendous wealth. why not just get a turbo? with the expense of the first car plus the supercharger and the expense of the second car to replace the first one, i'm sure the turbo would have been a cheaper option in the long run.

Porsche mechanics of Buenos Aires works perfect!
here in Buenos Aires Porsche sales like 180 cars per year!
they know how to work and modifie cars!

but here the problem is Evoms!
do I have to say again all the problems I had with them?!?!

I pay U$S12.000 for a SC that doesnt work! what a deal!
I pay for a air box filter that comes incomplete!
I pay for 997 CF mirros and they send me 996! then I wait 3 months to replace them!
I pay for exhaust tips! and they send me the wrong ones!

All these is my fault?
Is mechanics fault?

Paris, regarding the Supercharger, I am unsure of all the issues from your posts. Was it sent used? Did you look at the bottom of the SC for rub scuffs like EVO said there would be? Did you attempt to install the longer bracket? Did your dealer or EVO not flash the ECU correctly? There appears to be some bigger issues here but at the same time I'm not 100% sure if it's EVO or your dealer is responsible for many of these issues? I'd expect a little messaging being needed on your end to make everything right. Such a large upgrade as a SC is not going to be a 100% bolt on and forget installation, if you thought that you purchased the wrong product. It's unfortuneate that they don't make people aware of that, it's just common knowledge.

The mirrors and exhaust tips, did the dealer mis-ship them or were they mis-packaged and the box labeled incorrectly by EVO? Did EVO or your dealer ship the replacements?

Have you asked or been offered any refunds based on your additional shipping charges?

I can see that you are mad and I would be too but the internet is such a powerful tool, that the finger should be pointed at the correct people and I'm not 100% sure that you are doing that at this point.

180 or 1800 cars a year. it doesn't matter. my porsche dealer did my first install and they're a fairly high volume location. they even "had" a dedicated motorsports department. they botched the first supercharger install they did and they made a mess out of mine. it wasn't till suncoast porsche got involved that the kit has been great. i've said it time and time again. it's all about the install. i'm not saying 100% that there may not be a problem with the kit, but how come everyone else's works fine? There's dozens of tiny ways to mess this install up. I think Suncoast had to correct 18 different problems before mine was perfect. Even though the kit is somewhat basic, it is not a simple bolt on. Just something to thing about.

Maybe this kit isn't the right choice for someone so far away. I'm sure the language barrier doesn't help either when it comes to troubleshooting. However, I think you're painting and undeserved picture for their US clients. I was initally frustrated with EVO too when I had some issues. I was blaming the kit and not the installer initially. I was particulary annoyed that the first dealer was part of their install network. However, EVO did the right thing and took care of my car at Suncoast (the other EVO dealer in the area). Suncoast was great and it runs like a champ. I think I have around 10K miles on the kit now. There is another guy in my area that has around 60K miles on his and tracks his car often. Having a third party installer who probably doesn't have any porsche supercharger experience do the install is I'm guessing, most of the problem.

sorry to hear about your situation. I can only imagine how frustrating it must be... getting a hold of someone at EVOMs is like pulling teeth. Hopefully you'll get this resolved soon.

I had an Oil Leak in my SC, brought it back in and they turned it around in a week. Im a happy camper. The key is support, do your homework! find a good installer with good relations with EVOMS.
If you cant find a reputable installer and good support... I would leave it stock.

Paris,

Ojala y todo salga bien mano!! No puedo crear que una compañia no respete sus clientes como lo deberia de acer. Desafortunadamente hoy en dia ya no existe el buen servicio de cliente que todas las compañias deben de tener. SUERTE a ti y a tu hermano, Stig!!

In other words, Good Luck to you Paris and your brother (Stig) in dealing with this matter
