In Dec. '04 I got 5.5% on an '05 C2S Coupe in stock with an MSRP of $96,000. Bought it from Chambers in Boston and they paid the freight to ship it to St. Louis.
In March '07 my new C2S Cab arrived. I got 5.5% off the MSRP of $122,000. Bought it from Parktown in St. Louis.

How many NEW Porsches have you purchased from any of these 10 dealers?

I purchased one at 3K off MSRP in Southern CA. If it's a spec'd order, I found only 1 dealer who would give anything off MSRP which was $1k.

I received 14% off MSRP on a 2006 S Cab.

MSRP was $100k, out the door was $86k, including a 3M clear bra and LoJack.

I took delivery 2 weeks ago, and the car is very nicely optioned. My understanding was that this was one of the last 2006 S Cabs in the Northeast, and I certainly could not find any at other dealerships. Best of all, the warranty had NOT been punched, so 4 years / 50k started at delivery.

Great car and deal. That's pretty much at invoice.

These numbers are very surprising to me. I havent lost any customers to discounts that high. Theres really no reason to discount them that much just yet. The current inventory is it for the rest of the year pretty much and each dealership is only allocated a very small amount of 08's at first.

Spoken like a true salesman.......a reason why members need to pick up the phone and make your calls.....there are tons of dealerships looking to move inventory guys.

I think it's so easy for people to come and say they got 234234234 off a new car. Maybe the dealer paid you to take the care off their hands. It's just like gambling: people love to brag about the 100 dollars they made in 2 minutes, but quickly forget the 2342342344 they lost in 6 seconds. Anyone here who claims they get 7-9% on a new car is ridiculous. Any REAL dealers out there: Can you guys confirm how much you give as a discount.

So I guess we are all liars here...

Just call Chad or Chris at North Olmsted in Ohio...you will see. My MSRP on my car was 88700, I got 7k off...that's 8% off of MSRP. There are people who even got a better deal than this on a new 07 997S Coupe, I just didn't want to haggle anymore as Chad and Chris gave me this offer right off the bat and thought it was extremely fair.

It depends where you are. Some will not discount whatsoever. In general, you have to play the game. They will never agree to your first offer, so start at a number that is rediculous, and work from there. Often, you'll meet in the middle somewhere and everyone will be happy. I've done this enough over the last few years to know it works, but again, it depends on where you live and which specific model you want (law of supply and demand).

how ridiculous would that be for the dealers to confirm those discounts to further degrade their bottom line when they don't or want to? Most want to sell at full msrp.
that's why we're here posting the discounts we received so you can have a point of reference to haggle with.
hope you can find a great deal

I think you missed the point. Maybe things are different in CA, but every dealer I went to stated nothing off new orders and a couple grand of cars on the lot. Now, I'm sure that number is somewhat flexible. But, to say its flexible to the tune of an additional 6k, is absurd. So either the dealers are all lying or people aren't comparing apples to apples when they get their car.

Give me the name of a dealer who will give 5K of a made to order car. To me that is absurd. The dealer has no incentive to give that big of a discount on a made to order car. It is the same with BMW and Mercedes as well.
