A mechanical locking diffy is not offered on US cars, but it is offered to ROTW though. I do feel a locking diffy should be offered on these cars but Porsche NA feels we didn't need it..US cars and ROTW cars that don't have the LSD get by by electronics using what's called ABD, basically through the use of the ABS system the computer will clamp down the brake on the spinning rear wheel.

The lack of a LSD is one of the main reasons these cars axle hop so bad on very aggressive launches along with soft rear mounting bushings of the rear suspension.

A LSD can be retrofitted onto a non LSD car but you are looking at a cost of around $4k to do it, and you have absolutely no choice of a gear ratio as we are stuck with the extremely tall 3.44:1 ratio.

You can order it, it's in the PET CD and such. I inquired to GMG and talked to Fabryce it can be done, it justs costs some bucks.

Sorry forgot to add in my original post that the 997TT and GT3 have LSD's.

I believe it is an option for the TT though, standard on the GT3.

4k for a lsd? That is terrible. I still can't believe that a $90k P-car does not have an LSD yet Honda has it standard on a $22k Civic Si...LAME!

It's a must, especially if you're putting down power. BUT, I don't think it's a must if you don't track your car. You'll possibly never know the difference. Synergy Racing is putting one in mine soon. That's the main 'feel' difference between our cars and GT3s, in my book. I can't believe we don't get them. It's crazy. I can't wait to hook up out of turns without PSM getting me. If I don't run PSM, I light up my inside rear. If I do, it cuts me out in the middle of a beautiful turn. People say that PSM isn't intrusive. BS.
