New Pictures 997S Cabriolet

Here are a few pictures I took the other evening after I finally finished cleaning my car up after a weekend at Sebring with my Porsche club's driver education event. I made it to solo that weekend! I know this is on the luxury side of a C2S and does not look like a track car but many are suprised at how well this car goes around the track!

No added roll bar needed for the newer Porsches because they have the auto pop up roll bar if the car tips over. I run the PCA events and have looked into Chin, NASA and PBCOA and none require a roll bar for my car for DE events.

I do run with the top up and they make us run that way but during these events I see other Cabriolets and Boxters run with the top down...go figure!

I am having the time of my life at DE's!

PASM suspension...all stock. Only Fabspeed mufflers for better sound and so I can hear the rev's with a helmet on.

Send me your email and I will sned you the full rez pictures...glad you liked them. they were taken with a Canon 20D and a 17-55 f/2.8 IS lens with a flash. The the track pictures were Canon with various L glass lens.

Is that tiptronic? How does it feel on the track? I am assuming you use it in sport mode.

Yes it is a tiptronic. I got a tip because I lost my left leg 4 years ago in a motorcycle accident, sold the Boxster S 6speed because I can't push the clutch in. The tip on the track works out pretty good but thater are some places I'd rather have the bigger levers of a paddle shifter like on the 360/430 Ferrari's plue the speed at which the Ferrari's F1 tranny shift's would be nice.

I do not use sport mode because it makes the throttle way too sensitive and almost impossible to squeeze power back on. Since I shift my Tip in manual mode up and down through the gears from the toggle buttons on the steering wheel sport modes offer no improvement in shifts. My next DE is July 28th and I will play around in sports mode to see if I can get use to the throttle sensativity.
