Pics of Britax Car Seat in a 997

Hello Group -

I wanted to add the the existing threads and knowledge base by posting these recent pics of the Britax Parkway car seat installed in my '07 997.

The seat fits like a charm (well, I stand corrected). I added a car seat protector from One Step Ahead from for extra protection.

I hope this helps.

I have same seat, but did you notice the child seat backrest is not flush against the rear seat back. I think removing the 911 rear seat back will help with space and fit.

The bottom didn't fit well also. The Britax Body Guard seat is flat at the bottom and the rear seat of a C2S is concaved. In the end it doesn't matter, just as long as you drive safe.

Britax Parkway Car Seat Is Secure

Guys,

I note your comments re. fitment of this seat. I am unaware of any appropriate Porsche car seat that form fits to the majority of the seat surfaces.

Yes, the seat back has a significant gap below the headrest - however, there appears to be "enough" contact area at the top 1/3rd of so of the seat for secure fitment when belted in - could be improved though, I agree. I will try and remove the rear pad and see if that helps.

As far as the concave bottom of the seat, the car seat bottom perimeter is firmly in contact with the perimeter of the rear seat, the concave portion, dare I say, makes little difference to the secure fitment.

BUT, please guide me to a superior seat that form fits or fits better than this one. Q: Is this car seat not the same as the Porsche Britax car seat ?

I am all ears, as my daughters safety is at the top of my list.

Thanks in advance-

I sucked it up and bought the Porsche seat. It was stupid expensive, but there's no doubt that it fits the best, and being cheap when it comes to your kids' safety seems pretty silly.

I heard that the Porsche seats are the same as the other Britax's- just branded Porsche. I don't remember seeing any curvature on the bottom or top of the Porsche seats when I saw them.

Kudos! There's a man that won't let anything (even a baby) stop him from keeping his car family friendly.

My mistake it is a parkway. We have two of each parkway and bodyguard. The bodyguard may fit better since the seat bottom is adjustable. Its about inch or two narrower at its smallest setting. I think it may shorter forward to aft also. Just as long as your child is safe, and your wife and child are comfortable thats all that matters. Be safe.

I also got the Porsche forward facing child seat. I want to put it in the rear seat of a cabriolet, but there is no LATCH for the rear seats. How do I connect the child seat to the rear seat? Via the car's seatbelt???
