To Tall for a 911?

Hey Guys,

I went out and tested a new 911 today. Im a big guy just about 6'3 and i heard there was lots of room. It seemed the exact opposite today. My leg continued to rub on the center console. I am very interested in the car but cant live with being uncomfortable. Anybody aware of a fix. Changing the sliders to give another couple inches?

Let me know.

Thanks

Im tall too

I am 6'3.5 230lbs
I have had several Porsches
I currently have a 997c4
with the power seat package.
This is the most amount of room
in any Porsche I have owned.
I tilt the seat front, backward which gives more leg room
Try driving a 993 and you will see the difference
Hope this helps

I am 6'2" and my son is 6'8" we both fit. My car has sport adaptive seats, not sure if it makes a difference. Don't go near the Cayman it seems to be targeted for people under 6'.

At 6'3" height should not be a problem in a 997. I'm 6'2", but have long legs, and still drive with the seat considerably forward. I push it back before getting out of the car, and forward after entering. Many folks drive with the seat too far back. If you are over 6', you probably will not find a proper seating position that allows easy entry or exit, but I've always dealt with that in sports cars. Now, if the problem is width (sorry), that's a different matter.

I'm 6'2", 250 lbs, with a 34" inseam. I have the power seats, and do not have the seat fully to the rear. With the seat raised at the front, for support under the thighs, I have no problems with driving. However, getting in and out is strictly a problem of too much weight on my body! And getting old, not as limber.

With the memory seats, you can also set several different seat positions, depending on what you are doing. My position for Autocross is a bit different than for long trips, etc. Or you could actually set one for someone else, and go back to yours.

See with the manual seats you cant adjust the front part of the seat to go up for thigh support, this is why all my Porsches have to have Power or its a no go.. so uncomfertable for tall people

Thanks guys. I guess ill have to try and find one with the power seat package and try it out. Im very comfortable once im in the car but the problem is my knee rubbing on the side of the center console. It might just take some time to get used to coming from the Range Rover.

I'm 6'5" and fit the 997 cars very well. I am super comfortable in my 2006 997S. I do not fit as well in the 996 cars. I also fit perfectly in the new C6 Vettes.

I'm with you on the leg rubbing against the center console, which gets old fast. I'm 6'1" and have no problem adjusting for plenty of headroom, but the bunched up legs can be a pain. I've got mine dialed in pretty well now, but you have to find the adjustments that work for you and your driving position.

On the other hand, I am not tall (I chose my parents for looks and brains, not height)and I fit perfedtly with the power seats.

My leg also rubs on the center console, and I am 6'2". I also have big feet that causes my toes to catch on whatever is above the gas pedal. It also happens in my dad's 996. Dress shoes are the worst since they tend to be longer. I just have to keep my foot tilted obliquely to the right that causes my leg to rub more, so I just push on the gas pedal harder and then forget about my foot and knee and smile.
