Love that sound. Test drove an 05' Carrera yesterday and I couldn't help but stand back and listen in anticipation for the idle to warm up. It sounds fantastic.

A popcorn machine ought to do it. The cold start sound of a 997 is pretty unique.

I have the Tubi and its even more accentuated on cold start. Pops and bangs like hell on overrun whilst cold, love it!
Calms down once its warmed up though, although I do get some nice bubbles and pops on overrun.
I only have the rear mufflers fitted, but will soon be adding headers to the equation.
Im in 2 minds about doing the cats, as I think it will be quite overbearing on cruise as the tubi is quite noisey. Anyone experienced a Tubi with cats?? any opinons?

I've got just the Tubi exhaust on my 997S. Can you tell a newby what the advantages are to putting on the manifold (headers?) as well? The CATS?

I think all stock and aftermarket mufflers will give you that sound. I've got the full AWE system and it sounds great to me, but if my wife moves the car out of the garage to get at something I think we're either having an earthquake or a helicopter is landing on the roof

hahahahah this is fantastic i thought I was a succer for loving the noise. Caltex viper sounds bad *** and turns heads but the sound of my 997 at cold is just priceless

The tech said just put mufflers and you will get a more aggresive sound. I will do this I hope next week.
