Detail on one of the garage queens: 06 GTO
The pictures aren't the best as I had to borrow a camera for this, but hopefully you all will get an idea.
First off, of all the cars I have done it has to be my car that gives me all the problems. The car has the softest finish I have ever dealt with. While other GTOs I have worked on have had a soft clear, this one takes the cake. It took me about 2 hours to find a combo that would not haze the paint
I started off trying to correct some light hazing I had left behind last time I detailed the car, and I ended up just using a PC with a white pad and Optimum polish, I tried FP on white and somehow it still left micro marring.
Process:
Clay
Optimum Polish via PC speeds 6-3
FMJ
P21S 100%
not pictured:
Tires dressed with Sonus tire dressing
Stoners Invisible Glass on windows
vacuumed interior
FMJ on wheels
(interior pictures to follow)
Befores:
Only very light hazing, it is barely visible in the pictures

Afters (It was late and with the clouds it was hard to get a direct sun shot)
With FMJ

After a coat of P21S

Thanks!
That will come shortly. I want to get the Pedders Track II kit with 0 drop rear springs and 3/8 drop fronts. I still haven't decided on wheels yet though, probably CCW SP16a or custon SSR multi-piece wheels. That is along with a VZ front end.
lookin good! Like your ride
I finally ordered Koni's and H&R's for my GTO...putting them on this weekend. VZ front is a must

For red cars if you want the best wax possible, do yourself a favor and pick up some Pinnacle Souveran. Its on the expensive side, but lasts forever. And also works on all dark colors.
Good though, looks great!

Personally I think P21S 100% looks much better than Souveran. I may have given up some depth, but I think the P21S 100% offers more clarity and wetness. On top of all that it is the easiest wax to apply and remove that I have ever used (as is Menzerna's FMJ).
Thanks for the advice, but I'll do myself the favor and just keep buying P21S 100% Caranuba.
Good luck on your install, hope you enjoy the new suspension.

I'm not a fan of Souveran (have about 3 bottles)....i've tried probably over 100 different final step products (done product testing for a few manufacturers)
P21S is still what I use on my personal cars as a LSP

yea, I was lucky, insurance got me a new VZ front...otherwise I probably would not have done it
I've tried a bunch as well and this is where I ended up. Truthfully, it is just a matter of preference, I like Souveran, it is an excellent wax, but after trying P21S 100% I'm set on a wax for now. I just bought 1z's Glanz Wax to try on a few other vehicles, so I still try other stuff, but for now I'll keep applying the 100% on the GTO.
