A good friend of mine just installed the 40th anniversary package on his GT 500. He claims that with all his mods he is getting 620ho to the wheels and 540 trq. He wants to run me tomm and I am up for it. How do you think I will fare ? BTW, we are racing a 1'4 mile on a closed track.

 

are you runnin radials or street tires? what tire is he using?

have you run it at the track? has he?

Should be a really good race from what I've seen/heard but if he hooks up he might run you down.

 

My buddy has his with a cat back intake tune and a 100 shot. He put down around 600rwhp 610rwtq, On Et streets he ran a few runs st 11.30 and 1 run he did a 10.95. So be careful hope he really dose not have 620rwhp.

 

the can go tens with less power than that on slicks!

if your both on drs i believe you still have a slight advantage, with the vette being easier to launch and more consistent as well.

What mods are done to the Z06?

 

If it has a nice cam and header I would say no problem as the GT is a pig and the Z06 is close to 3200lbs. Then again the drag stip is all about setup and driver. Any mods to the driver? No? Roll race......

 

the z06 is stock according to the sig...
if you are racing from a dig, anything can happen


if its from a roll...its gonna be very close

 

I think stock he will loose in a roll. If he has a tuner and a cam then who knows. Yes the Ford GT is heavy, but they also have a long power band (so does the z06). If the z is stock he is down over 140160whp which is a lot IMO.

I think this will be very close if both drivers can handle their cars. The gt500 is a pig, however it is a pig with a lot more horsepower than normal. The Z is the underdog in my opinion. Although I hate to admit it
