That is damn impressive, but no sense comparing those cars. It is cool seeing manufacturers fight on the track though!

It's an awesome car and I love to see not one but two American cars at the top of the Nurburgring lap time list, but comparing it to any available Corvette is pointless and just plain silly.
Well thats the thing, Vipers owners don't care, love raw brutal cars. Don't care about cup holders, or traction control, or anti this and anti save that. Can easily drive daily, car is actually quite comfy not in a Lexus type sense but guess their only a certain amount of us with ***** enough to do so lol, the seats alone blow away the overstuffed cushions in the ZO6. Heck friend an I drove 01' ACR for 13 hours straight besides fill ups heading out of FL.

Either way its nice both are on top, some of us just prefer the snake instead

edit - do agree though that ZO6 will still be more of a track car then ZR1, as somebody else mentioned GM seems to be pushing the ZR1 as more-so GTish.

What a great video, the driver was awesome, no time-losing oversteer. I see I'm not the only one who misses shifts in the Viper, my gt3 cup sequential is SO MUCH faster.
The ACR gearing was really bad, too much 2nd gear and he never got it out of 4th gear on the top speed straights. But the car was SO stable that the time was remarkably fast. Thanks for posting!

What we found out was there was a 25+ mph headwind, and when you get to those speeds the car was attaining it was quicker staying in a lower gear and banging the limiter, even on the straightway the driver said they lost some mph when he shifted up a gear which is why he stayed in gear. Wind has a drastic affect at those speeds, even for a car with massive power of the Viper.

That said, on a good day, and if they would slap in some 3.33 or maybe 3.55's instead of the 3.07's, car would put up some even insaner times.

Yeah but try daily driving the ACR. Not gonna happen. Not to mention it has super soft race tires....

No problem driving it daily, some owners have already gone damn near cross country with the new ACR. Just have to be a little careful with front splitter and might go through tires quickly lol, but one owner we know already has a different set of wheels/tires for street driving. I don't know why some think they or Vipers can't be driven daily, perfectly capable of doing so, I have and plenty of others as well. The ACR with its suspension setup actually drives a bit smoother then the regular SRT. Another buddy just took delivery last week and has been driving their ACR daily in KY.

As mentioned, the ACR drives better than the stock Viper. I drove mine 2400 miles straight. It was great!

Other than that, the ACR is not meant to be a Daily driver. I was a little embarrased to drive it on the street because of the huge freakin wing.

Yeah that was retarted I think he hit the rev limiter about 14 times I mean common that will kill your time on any track. I think he did it on purpose to just show it can run a faster time.

Never said you couldn't daily drive it. But it sure isn't going to be as user friendly as a ZR1.

Some of us don't care about user friendliness or amenities .

If you saw my other post we found out the headwind was like 25+ mph that day, and at those speeds especially with the down force he ran quicker staying in gear and hitting the limiter.
