I'm in Detroit at the 10th Viper Owner's Invitational and they showed us the video tonight at dinner for the first time. The joint was rockin'!

Methinks I detect the sound of a huge bubble bursting.

 

And would have been even faster if the driver didn't hit the rev limiter so much and for so long, should have run up an extra gear as the massive power and torque is there.

That's awesome! I can't wait to hear what GM will have to say about this... Seems the Viper is really going out with a bang!

 

From all the mag reviews I've read the ACR is a pretty impressive track machine.

 

I want an ACR bad but I must say GM did a great job as the zr1 is more user friendly.

 

Since the ACR is pretty much a ***** out barely street legal race car, vs the ZR1 being a more GT style comfortable car..... I'd say the ZR1's results are much more impressive. Outfit a ZR1 like an ACR... well you get the idea..

Z06 would probably be faster than ZR1 on most tracks, especially tighter more technical tracks, due to lighter weight and N/A engine. Even GM is not marketing ZR1 as a hardcore track machine, its much more "GTish" in nature.

Car is insane...

 

I don't think any "bubbles will be bursting"....try using an ACR on a daily basis and see how much you give a **** about its Nurburgring lap time. The car's basically a full on race car that you can use on the street, should you be crazy enough.

It's an awesome car and I love to see not one but two American cars at the top of the Nurburgring lap time list, but comparing it to any available Corvette is pointless and just plain silly.

That car and driver have a 7:20 in it. He missed a couple of shifts, but he was driving the **** out of it. Veeeeeery nice!
