ACR runs a 7.22 at the Ring!
I dont own either car but do you realize how you sound? We are discussing stock to stock and now you want to mod the ZR1 while leaving the ACR stock
.
As for GM using an engineer to drive excuse? Consider this:
1. ACR only had the track for 4 hours with only 3 days prep and only 4 laps run all tolled compared to the ZR1's countless months and laps of development.
2. Suspension tune clearly wasnt the best with all that bottoming out. Deffinately not a car designed on the Ring like the ZR1.
3. Gearing sucks for the Ring as evidenced by banging rev limiter being the fastest way around the track.
4. The downforce wasnt set to max.
5. 25 mph headwind that severely limited its top speed on the long straight.
Now with all that against it it still beat the ZR1 by 4 seconds. BTW anyone that can do 7:26 at the Ring is pro quality imho and no mare engineer.
Ok so I give you a C6r pilot for the ZR1. But to be fair lets:
1. REALLY SETUP THE ACR FOR THE RING
. Give it the same amount of development time on the Ring as the ZR1 lol. But in the quest of fairness you have to.
2. Put Olivier Baretta in both since he has racing stints with both marques to take away the doubt factor.
See how crazy your line of reasoning takes the discussion? Stock to stock is the only thing relevant between these two. Trust me there will be modded ones out on the track then you MAY get your wish or not when a modded ZR1 faces off against a modded ACR. Apples to apples. I love em both and they both would kill most cars on a track but the ACR is the track king between the two.

I wouldnt say its barely street legal. Its got a different suspension and an aero kit on it. The point is GM had there shot at being the king of the hill and they just got spanked.
