Jeremy makes for entertaining television, but I would not consider him the authority on Ford modular V-8 engines. The GT engine has some similarities with the 5.4L engine found in the Lightning, but in final form shares few, if any, parts.

Congrats! I doubt you will have any regrets. What color and which of the four options?

If you are referring to the billet control arms found on the '05 GTs, Roush made them. Saleen was responsible for the final assembly of the vehicles.

Rich and Dennis. I'll be happy to send you their phone number if you would like.

To get your daily fix of Ford GT info, I would suggest fordgtforum.com.

Best Regards,
Waldo

Best Regards,
Waldo
Si, it shares displacement. The 5.4L in the Lightning was a 2V SOHC with a cast iron block.

Take Jeremy with a grain of salt when it comes to American performance vehicles. He does have his biases!!!!!!!

I've read somewhere that the Ford GT has the same engine (same components) as a Mustang Shelby GT500, but with a different supercharger. I forgot when and where I read that.

It could be true for all I know.

Well, you're (a lot) closer than the guy that thinks it's a 'truck' engine

You are correct that they use different superchargers.

They are the same displacement of course, use the same (basic) heads, and use different rotating assemblies. Moreover, the GT uses dry-sump lubricating system and the GT500 has a cast iron block.
