As far as the car, you won't be a bit disappointed. I've seen you sig and all I can say...impressive. After you get on your new GT, you will feel that the fun has just began

Yeah, please explain where you got your info on the FGT having a truck engine in it?
You are not confusing it with the Dodge Viper are you? *tisk tisk*

It has a 5.4L Ford modular engine that is shared with the Ford trucks. Yes, the internals are different, but it is still a Ford-based modular 5.4L engine with a supercharger.
It is a beautiful car. It enjoys a large following since it is a retro of the very successful Ford GT40 that won Le Mans. It first won that race in 1966 in a GT40 MkII. A 1967 GT40 MkIV followed.
The GT40 winner's at Le Mans were powered by the Ford 427 engine. The cars were actually redesigned Lola's. Shelby American was instrumental in sorting the race car.
The GT40 remains as the only American car is win OA at Le Mans.
You can find Ford GTs in the marketplace. They are not expensive relative to most supercars.
A Viper has a V-10 which was originally developed for their trucks.
It's not accurate to portray the 'modular' engine in the GT as a truck engine per se. The Ford OHC 8 and 10 cylinder engines share the common familial name 'modular'. The DOHC 4 valve 5.4L engines have powered an SUV (Navigator), Mustangs, and the FGT.
While the FGT's block may share the same capacity as the other 5.4L's used by Ford, the FGT has an aluminum block - not shared with any SUV or truck by Ford. Moreover, very little if any other components - eg, heads, rotating assembly, oiling system, etc. are shared with other powerplants - save Cobra R.

Thanks for the answer (above) I was pretty sure that the FGT engine was not shared with any trucks. I am familiar with the car, its history and the price movements of the various editions since inception.
I didn't mean to insult you, but it is pretty common that we see folks that confuse cars.
Cheers,

OK, the Ford GT has an exotic engine much like those found in Ferrari Formula-1 cars. It's an exotic V-8 engine of spectacular technology that supersedes even a Ferrari V-12.

And don't drive too close to the rear end of my Porsche since I may eject some oil onto the windshield of your Bimmer.
