RPS triple carbon clutch - install

I would like to thank Rob at RPS for taking the time to make this custom triple carbon clutch a Shelby Super Snake . This is the first triple ever made for a Mustang, The quality it TOP NOTCH. RPS is well known with other performance cars such as Viper, Vette, Supra, Ferrari, ect... They make everything from entry level dual organics to mid range dual disc carbon carbon for 7xxrwhp to this beast which should be good for near 1400rwhp even with the 4k lb weight of the Shelby.

This clutch is great!! it has stock pedal feel and does not chatter one bit. It is also lighter then the stock set up so it gained 12 RWHP, not only will it hold up better but it rev's smother and it gives you some free hp (not really free, but yeah) I am very impressed with the triple set up.

Thanks for looking

Tommygun,

I know it's been a while but do you have any feed back on the clutch so far?

Its been in the car for some time with a lot of street driving. It feels great, its not grabby, sometimes it will chatter a little bit but you start off in 2nd gear and it goes away. Its been a great clutch and handles over 800rwhp in a heavy car

Sounds great so far. Hope you don't mind if I pick your brain? How is it when it's cold? How many miles so far? Are you putting down 800 rwhp? The most important question...is it noisy and how is it in traffic?

Its quiet when cold

Yes its putting down 800rwhp in a Shelby Super Snake

Its not touchy or grabby in traffic at all, but not stock either if that makes any sense. You know there is a aftermarket clutch, pedal effort is almost stock (maybe 5-10% stiffer) and there is very little slip when releasing.

Another benefit we saw when installing this clutch was it gained rwhp back to back (tested per suggestion from RPS) due to weight saving and design.

There are about 2k miles on the clutch now

That is excellent!

Have you had a chance to run it on the 1/4 mile? I'm wondering about how many miles the triple carbon will last? I'm assuming you were slipping the previous clutch...?

I've heard the wear is very minimal vs other materials. I can't wait to hear more. Have you influenced anyone else in pursuing and rps triple carbon?
