i guess italians didnt like an obnoxious relatively cheap american production car beating their fancy top end half million dollar cars around the 'ring.

That sucks. They were some awesome machines. I guess now is the time to get one before the gold rush begins with collectors and speculators. If I had the storage space and money I would love to have one.

i dont believe the viper ever made money for dodge. maybe thats the reason???

I just watched a video made my Chrysler where a Dodge PR guy spoke about Viper, it's history and confirmed that Chrysler has decided to confirm the Viper for 2010 and the years ahead...
It's on the VCA site and you can find it on Youtube I think, supposedly the video was posted on Oct.21 so this news that it was killed today sounds strange, who knows..
I know that years ago the next generation viper was supposed to be developed on a new platform along with a Benz sports car (which turned out to be the new SLS), so who knows we could see a new generation Viper as soon as 2011 or 2012?
anyway maybe they killed it but that decision would not make sense considering the video put out a week ago?
