New Z06 info!

Actually this has been out since last week but I haven't seen it here yet. I know this is a Porsche board, but there's recently been alot of Corvette talk and many members have expressed interest in the Z06. So I thought you guys might be interested in this info. Make sure to scroll down passed the pictures to the actual article.

Supposedly there is a new article in the upcoming Motor Trend on the new Z06. Price is in the $75K to $80K range. Yikes, talk about inflation.

....but the main rails beneath it are hydroformed out of aluminum instead of steel. The front engine cradle on the street car is made of lightweight and robust magnesium...

An ASF is very complex, I think it would be cost prohibitive.
Some portions are aluminum, like an aluminum-steel hybrid frame, similiar to the latest 5-series???

All the major publicatios have articles next month. GM already gave them the info some time ago. Corvette Mag "accidently" posted the article online, it has been taken off the website since.

The car debuts officially at NAIAS in a couple weeks.
