750 hp and very low weight, didn't expect saleen to do this. Maybe CJV would be interested, seems like his type of car.

No intercoolers because it's only 5.5 psi, makes sense. I am sure the cooling that they already have is more than enough to handle the added heat from the mild amount of boost they added, and they dropped the compression slightly.
Under-piston oil squirters aren't anything new or innovative, but the fact that they added it is commendable.
Maybe it's just me, but if I was in the market for a supercar the S7 wouldn't be anywhere near the top of the list.
That new Pagani Zonda F however, that's a beautiful car

Actually if I was in the market the S7 would definitely be at the top of my list because at that exalted level exclusivity becomes more and more important. It's definitely a great car, no doubt.
we've had a few good discussions on this car the past few months, there is a thread I created that went about 5 pages.
seems no one on the board has driven one yet though

The inside looks nice and clean. But the price tag is very high, $555,000.
For a little over a 1/4 of the price, you could get a 2004 Dodge Hennessey Viper SRT10 Venom 800 Twin Turbo, 0-60 in 2.43. Might not handle as well. But for $160,804, and have money left for a few other cars.

I can make my car out handle and out accelerate a lot of cars for fractions of the cost of them, but the fact is, at the end of the day its still a Mustang Cobra.
IMO the viper is a far cry from a saleen S7 TT or an Enzo or Carrera GT, etc. The cars are in different leagues.
People look down upon the S7 because they know nothing about them. The assume it's a hopped up mustang. Well it's not. The S7 TT is its own car, a true Supercar.
Steve Saleen has been around the racing scene for many many years. And believe it or not he started out racing porsches back in the late 70's, early 80's. Saleen has delved into Le Mans racing mustangs and the likes of other cars.
I think it looks the part too, what do you think?
OOOOOooooooooooohhhhhhhHHHHHHH. Thank you. Nice pic. I'm not in the half million dollar car catagory, but how could it not be on the list? I'm not saying you would buy it, but hell, drive it, make sure it's not for you. I drove a lot of 100k cars before buying the TT, I was certain I wanted a 993TT when I started, but comfort and warranty beat out the SEXY body of the 993tt. I see a parallel to women in here, and it's not very obscure. I might have to start a post of pictures of wives next to your toy car.
I'm not putting down the S7, I know the history behind the car and their race history. I just think that over half a mil is a lot of money for the car. I know that these are limit production cars, and they are great cars, but I would just prefer something else, CGT or 575 or ENZO. I just looked at the 0-60 time on the S7 and was very surprised (very fast and impressive), I don't know how the car handles (probably a lot better then the Viper, I don't know), but if I was comparing 0-60 times alone and how much the car is, I think the Viper is a better buy for less.
"Saleen knows all about power. As in S281 Mustangs, N2O Focuses and the S7, America’s first (and still the only) mid-engine exotic supercar. When it went on sale in 2002, the S7 was the only street-legal car in the U.S. with more than 500 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque. The media and S7 owners have raved about the car since it first smoked the rear tires in anger. And it has been recognized by numerous automotive magazines as the fastest production car in the world. But during the past three years the automobile marketplace has witnessed an explosion of performance with models from manufacturers including Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Chevrolet touting power numbers above the once magic 500 level.
Saleen is not an organization content to rest on yesterday’s 0-60 mph times or quarter-mile speeds. So for 2005 it’s “goodbye S7†and “all hail the S7 Twin Turbo!†This is the first major change to the S7 since its introduction, and it is a BIG change as in 750 horsepower and 700 lb-ft of torque, numbers the competition will be chasing for a long while we predict. "
These two paragraphs tell me that this company is very much into the numbers and horsepower race, so I simply stated that if one was looking for numbers (0-60), the Viper would be better.

unfortunately zero to 60 times sell cars. If they didn't people wouldn't care about them. But honestly, do you think somebody that is in the market for a supercar is also in the same market for a viper? I think not.
