Ford Flex Opinions?

Thinkin about one for the new family cruiser. The look pretty cool especially if done up right (Ive seen pics of a couple blacked out models). Wanted to know everyones thoughts on them? Haven't had the chance to drive one yet.

Im not a fan of its exterior design at all. But Ive seen very positive reviews about its interior layout and amenities etc. Seems like it would make a great family car if you can get past the looks. Sounds like you have

Ive never seen any hooked up though.

I have seen some results out of a EcoBoost Flex that Livernois tuned a little while ago. I cant remember the peak numbers, but I think with just a tune alone it picked up 30rwhp/40rwtq.

If done right I think they are cool family trucksters... sort of a new take on the old woodies

Thanks guys. The exterior is actually what drew me to them in the first place. I think their pretty sick looking. I have 4 little ones and it'd def be a great family car. My wife has an Acura SUV and a car just won't cut it. I've considered a few different vehicles and this one just seems to fit the budget and the family.

Found this on it. Its for the 10' model which is what Im looking at. TT V6 doesnt sound to bad to me.

I want to. I didn't know much about the power/drivetrain either until I started researching it. The overall vehicle attracted me so when I found out about the power it was a suprise!

The EcoBoost V6 is proving to be a pretty stout little motor that really responds to basic mods. With just a tune and a CAI they are putting down around 350whp/350wtq

I think they are cool and like you said, I've seen some modded ones that were very nice.

However, once I saw the price tag, I was turned off. For some reason, I had them in the same boat, at least what I'd pay for one, as a Scion or Element. Not $30k or more!

I agree Brian. I'm seeing them used for $24-$27K which isn't bad. $30k is alittle much for me as well.

I'd def be adding a few things to it for more power. Its in the jeans. LOL.

Cool rides if done right, great power with AWD to boot.

If you have to haul kids or more than 5 or 6, this is 100% better than any minivan IMO. Given it has AWD, it can be a great alternative to a big SUV if you are really only interested in on road bad weather traction.

Tricked out I'd consider one for sure if I had the need.

The reason its more expensive is its big. Nice cars big enough to carry 7 passengers are all 30 and up. Throw in awd and 330+ tt v6...well you get the picture. The scion and element are less because they are half the car literally!

A friend just purchased one of the gm cars with 7 seats, it has four doors but looks like a van. Then I heard how much they cost(30k+)....he(his wife wanted the car) made a poor choice imo!

The Flex is a great car the money! Ford has stepped up in recent years!
