CTS-V , Thoughts ?
I'm more of a road course kind of guy, but I had a chance to run my V coupe down a 1/4 mile this weekend. I only ran three times and ended up with a 11.86 @ 122.22mph on 20" street tires. I'm sure someone with more experience would fare much better, but I was happy with the results.

It is a great daily driver. Fast. The auto transmission is a little slow in Manual mode. Downshifts are accompanied with a throttle blip (but makes the car feel like its accelerating under braking). The wagon is a sleeper if you remove the badges.
If you want AWD then you have to go with a P-car.

The quickest ET for a stock CTS-V is 11.6x and the quickest trap is 121mph. I have personally ran an 11.9 @ 119mph in mine when it was stock and cut a 1.6 60'. Now after some light mods (pulley, cat back, intake, heat exchanger, tune) I average 11.4 @ 126mph on street tires and pump gas.
The quickest bone stock 1/4 mile run is by 1sensei @ 11.94 @ 117.4 with a 1.79? 60 ft, & then mpouls1 @ 11.99 @ 118.4 with a 1.823 60 ft. There might be quicker runs but I am unaware of them. I don't believe that there are any on Larry's charts either.

Question if you don't mind: where are they on pricing these out given they are special order only on the wagons? Were you closer to invoice or MSRP on your deal?
Gary, those are just times posted on CadillacForums. I've personally witnessed a test fleet of CTS-Vs driven by local Houston dealers at the drag strip when they first came out. They were all clicking off 11.9s-12.1s consistently, on a good weather night. All you need is a well prepped track and low density altitude, they are all 11 second capable. As usual, the automatic trans cars were about 2 tenths quicker and more consistent.
I'm aware , Nine Ball, that the data that I posted is just the ones listed in Larry's (GNXS) thread on the Cad forum, and that there might be quicker ones,
but those are all verified / validated with time slips. The one in the post above as running 11.6 is actually a CAI car, but bone stock otherwise. Belongs to user name "newcadman". I believe that these are 11.9 stock cars, but maybe not 11.9 flat. I'm thinking maybe high 11.9's. With maybe a few flukes towards mid 11.9's.

Mr Wells. Let me tell you this if many examples have ran 11.9 stock then their is already an 11.8 out there somewere.
Id say in a negative 2000 day with that once in a lifetime 60 ft someone has already went 11.7 at 119 mph in a stocker

And a trap speed of 119 may or may not get you a ET 11.7. Larry's chart over on the CadForum shows 1 car with a trap speed of 119 and it only netted a ET of 12.02. Due to the traction problems these cars have I think that it is very hard to correlate a definitive relationship between trap speed & elapsed time. IMHO & FWIW
known nineball for a while. he says a bunch of em were averaging 11.9-12.1 then to me its a no brainer that they can go faster. those cars are VERY weather dependant. you get in an negative 2000 DA with a good driver and bam..sub 11.9s
Can you post the list you speak of here. very interested

I've driven 2010 CTS-V and your generation M5 (V10) besides having owned E39 M5 (V8). The CTS-V, dues to SC, comes on fast and hard whereas your car is a bit more high strung. That is, low TQ and power at high RPM means you need to "drive it like you stole it" to feel the power. CTS-V is fast at any speed. Don't fret b/c new M5 being twin-turbo V8 should solve all those issues and finally bring HP & TQ numbers close to each other where they should be. IMO, the recent M-cars with 100 different adjustments that you can set, is just too much. If you set the car up right, maybe 3 is enough: normal, sport & track.
Very interested to see your impressions when you get yours. I spec'd one out just like this on their website.

I don't think they're making 6spd wagons unless you order em.. just not enough demand. On the flip side, you get what you want...
Showed up last night... wow this thing is smooth. I guess I'm officially old now.

I think I'm really going to enjoy this car.... although the 6spd is nothing like my 997 or S4... the clutch is really light. Going to take a little getting used to.
