1967 Mustang MachRod....
1967 Mustang MachRod....
What is the real meaning of American Muscle? To the older generation, it can range from classic showstoppers to straight out high power hot rods. To the younger generation, it's the more high-tech, modernized and redesigned vehicles based on traditional iconic cars of past times! What happens when you take the two generation and fuse them together?? Well... a MachRod is born! (read on to find out more...)
The journey starts off with wanting to restore or more correctly stated resto-mod a 1967 mustang fastback. The Texas vehicle was purchased from San Antonio, Tx and brought back to Houston, Tx for restoration. Well, we all know how that goes right? With tight work schedules and not enough knowledge to fully restore the car, the mustang sat in the garage for a good year. All the while... I'm watching tv shows with amazing car builders like Chip Foose, Steve Strope, and others... I'm on car forums checking out classic restorations... I run across this craigslist ad for a 1970 cuda for sale and turns out the seller had a shop that restores cars. I clicked on the link and I saw some very unique restored muscle cars and contacted the owner, Steve, right away. One phone call and a couple of emails was all it took for me to be convinced that Steve and his son Jeff from the MuscleRodShop had to do this build. So back to San Antonio the car would go.... to be transformed into the first ever MachRod... Steve is very descriptive with his words and his vision of the MachRod is nothing short of jaw dropping and amazing!
What defines a MachRod according to Steve?
Its a build that features wide body designs, dropped rockers, custom wheel arches, low stance, custom spoilers, valences and hood, big billet wheels, big horsepower drivetrain.
This 67 Mustang Fastback MachRod build will consist of a new custom chassis, 1200 hp twin turbo engine, custom 18"/20" wheels, widened body, and slammed stance....
Pics of the final rendering will be revealed soon but here are some pics to start off this incredible journey...
