C6 ZR1 values when C7Z deliveries start?

Anyone speculating on this yet? Is high-$40s possible late next year?

No chance,

The Zr1 will loose a bit of value but not much, most c7 z06s will be 100,000 and a person contemplating a zr1 will not even be the same buyer for a new z. I think in the middle of winter you might see 57,000 to 60,000 if you are lucky. But it will be a long time before they get into the 40s.

The C7Z starts at $78,995, the C6 ZR1 $112,600. I don't see $20k in options for the C7Z?

check out this link from corvetteforum with spreadsheet listing all the options.

The C7 Z06 can be had with a convertible top, with 8 speed auto, 3Lt, comp seats, Z07 package, pick your favorite combo and you will see $100,000 easily maybe even a bit more. Not to mention some early adapters that don't know any better will be paying more than MSRP if the dealers in their area are gouging people itching to have the newest ride on the streets.

If anything, the 8spd and 'Vert and track package will further steal from the C6 ZR1s market value. Also the brief mark-up won't affect the long-term market on the C6 ZR1.

Well there are allot of fools in the world with tons of money to spend right now. Any you better believe there will be many paying an up-charge just to have the first Z06 on the block. Hell i remember in 2005 when the C6Z06 came out, my local dealer was charging a $25,000 ajusted market value and people were paying it. Look at all the high performance cars coming out, Z28, hellcat, Viper, Mustangs, you name it. They are all selling because to most people the recession is over and then can get back to spending money on toys.

I'm well aware, I was in the business. Dealer mark-up is a great way to throw away money, and worse when resale hits.

An initial up-tick won't do anything for C6 ZR1 values long term.

I didn't say people won't, I wrote only fools will pay it.

It will easily hit $100k. 3LZ $8650, Z07 $8K+$3K, 8speed $1700≈ $21K in options and thats without adding any options for color, wheel, comp seats and carbon fiber bits.

Motortrend just did their first test. Video on youtube is great. That being said price as tested was 100k+ and it only had the stage 2 aero.

I dont think zr1 prices will be affected much. Everyone making the switch has probably already dumped theres and those that havent arent going to be willing to take a huge loss at this point for basically the same engine/performance. Albeit the c7 does it all a little nicer and better.

And dealer markup is stupid. Ive never paid it, never will.

I would still buy a 991 over any GM product. Plus I don't consider myself the "Ron Burgundy" type which is the target market for "Vettes".

If I could "like" yogis' post I would.

I'm mostly a performance guy, not necessarily brand loyal. So taking a base 991 over this would be crazy to me. 991 turbo, OK. But that is a big jump up in fun tickets. To me, the C7Z and GTR are significant because they both offer upper echelon/extreme performance in RWD or AWD platforms at a fraction of the cost respectively.

Good for the performance guy

I don't think ZR1's are going to take any kind of a hit. Two completely different cars. You have your ZR1 buyers and the new C& Z06 buyer. Again, two completely different cars and buyers.

Why do you think they are different buyers? Im a vette lover and would cross shop the two. For me it would come down to timing and budget. If i had the cash and wanted it now i would get z06. If i didnt have the cash and wanted now zr1. If i could wait then c7 z06 in a couple years.
