Does anyone know about or have owned a viper?
Stock clutch is soft and fine, but the wide tires pick up tracks in the road like no other car. I found them very uncomfortable and felt like even cruising they wanted to wander all over the road. While the SRT's are soft as hell, the '98 - '01's hold value really well and have appreciated over the past few years. As Peter who posted can confirm, if you want the car for modding, go with the Supra TT as it is a much more comfortable car that us much more reliable to mods than the Viper IMHO!
I still have a Gen III, had it for about a year now. No problems whatsoever. Car runs great, only had the standard maintenance and no issues at all.
For daily driving, I guess its a matter of choice. I choose to only drive it once/twice a week but that's me.
The suspension is stiff but that's what I expect from a street legal "race car"! It does get hot in the cabin but that's when you put the top down and drive topless.
It is insanely fast so you have to respect its power! And just like a few have mentioned here, the clutch is pretty forgiving!
GL on whatever you decide!
