60-130 speedo shot in my Shelby GT500

I made a 60-130 pass last night. I shifted 2 times and slow. I was holding the camera, steering, keeping an eye on the speed and watching for the traffic ahead (which I let get way ahead to make the run). Talk about multitasking. I count somewhere from 8.3-8.6 seconds...would a speedo usually be fast or slow?

I was resting the camera on the wheel, while steering with my left hand and shifting with my right.

I went into a Ford dealership near my office yesterday to check out a Mustang GT vert for a cruiser car and saw they had a red GT500 and a black one (both coupes). The MSRPs were about $45k and dealer markup was $35k. I told them I was take either one at MSRP here and now, but they just laughed. The sales guy said they were getting buyers from Europe and Japan and shipping them back. I'd love a GT500 vert but don't want to part with my 996 C4S for it, and no, the wife said I can't have both.

I'm really liking the GT500 for my next car. The s/c whine isn't my favorite - have you looked at a Bassini exhaust? The s/c on my Lightning sounds the same.

Nice video.

It's a great car...not perfect from the factory, but a great platform to build on.

My exhaust just shipped today from stainless works...including 1 7/8" headers, 3" x pipe with 300 cpi cats, and 3" catback with dual 4" tips. http://www.stainlessworks.net/cart/index.php

I like the blower whine...it lets you know the car means business.

check out http://www.kennebell.net/supercharge...lby/Shelby.htm

with race gas and a Kenne bell kit they are making over 800rwhp on a stock car (besides the KB kit) with, larger filter and tube, a bap and MAF.ia as the only other additions. (all included in the kit). They are making 700rwhp on 93 octane.

I will be getting the kit when I have some more money saved up.

Here is a vid of a KB car (all else stock) at 660rwhp on 91 octane. Top of 3rd is ~120mph. 20-120 in about 8 seconds on street tires and he said he isn't even going WOT due to traction issues.

yeah the ADM is pretty crazy right now. It's calmed down a lot over the last 3-4 months and GT500's can be had for 10K over, some at 5K over and a very lucky few at MSRP.

I had a power lease from my 04 cobra vert which basically entitled me to one of the first cars at or below MSRP. http://trucks.about.com/cs/leasing/a/svt_powerlease.htm
