94-96 Chevy Impala SS

True American classic.
My favorite 90's American Muscle. Never gets old to me.
I heard those make you a target for theft, carjackings etc... that's why i been hesitant to get one.

Anyone on this board owns or owned one in the past?

LS7 ? Thats the new z06 engine right? Which transmission would you put in it?

I'm in the south, i see quite a lot around.
I'm gonna start looking for which ones are F/S.

I'm not trying to bash you guys, but what is it about that Impala that you all like? I really love good American muscle, but that car, to me, is a V8 Caprice with some badges that are moving to older gents who remember the original Impalas.

If we overlook the V8, is there anything special about this car?

Far from a Caprice.
Sure they look alike in some ways, but are very different.

This car had the Corvette Engine, lower suspension.
Better interior, bucket seats inside etc...
Caprice is like a 4x4.

Its funny but to this date, the SS doesn't look so outdated.

cool. Thats yours?
I think the next American Muscle classic that'll replace the SS is the Charger SRT8.

they are amazing, but theres really no major difference between that and a caprice. caprice also came with the LT1 vette engine. the interior and a little bit of the suspension is different on the caprice.and obviously the colors (caprices came in ugly ones, the SS came in less ugly colors. maroon teal and black. black is really the only option.)

ive wanted one for years. supercharge or throw some nitrous on that LT1.

I had a 96 (94-95 had column mounted shifters). Awesome car. Tons of power for being a hooligan (hey, I was a teenager!). Lots of friends fit inside. Great value for the money. It was also pretty well sorted out in the handling dept for such a large vehicle.
