Crazy find at the Mercedes Benz Museum - a "Porsche-designed" Merc w/ 3000 hp...

First peak at a series of pics I took on a recent tour of the Mercedes Benz Museum in Stuttgart, Germany. I almost didn't believe this one when I read it... rather than explain it, I included a pic of the museum description - unreal...

Yup - he was an independent engineer at the time, and also worked with Auto Union (Audi) on a number of their pre-war racers. The "crazy" part was a reference to the power (3000 hp) and speed estimates (373 mph) of the T 80. The "Porsche-designed" part was an interesting side-note.
