Raced a street bike in my 997 turbo

I certainly did not buy the car to do this but for some reason street bikes love to race my 997 turbo. I turned on the axis road along a highway near my house hammered the turbo pulled away and around 100+ slowed down and the bike passed me so I hammered the turbo passed the bike again and pushed him to 130+ which is a place I know the street bikes get nervous because of the wind speed. For a moment there I thought about selling the turbo. Anyone have similiar reactions? Also, I currently have the awe exhaust on the car and VP racing fuel in the car so it hauls ***.

ya street bikes are obviously faster but to me that doesn't say much. sure they're fun and a thrill but I think that cars and bikes are way too different to be compared.

sure they're fast in a straight line but you'd take him on a track.

The closest to streetbike I have is a YZ490 which obviously arent that fast but It is really hard to accelerate fast with it and it doesnt help to put as much weight as possible above front wheel.
Anyway, I often meet people on bike that want to race me from redlight and so far noone have won til 100km/h or so, so I can imagine that it is quite hard for a biker to get below 3.5s 0-60mph even if an R1 would do it on 2.7or so with skilled driver?

Not sure if I am understanding you correctly. Are you saying that a 997 Turbo would take a bike on the track?

I dont think so. Fast laps at Laguna Seca on a Superbike are around 1:23 and a Porsche GT3 Cup car is around 1:34.

Must have been a newb...or a ****ty *** bike....bikes are VERY easy to go fast in a straight line...and 100-150...its not much of a difference with the wind it happens too fast..lol...not ******* the TT....as far as track....there are many videos out there comparing the two.

I pretty sure a bike could beat me if he knew what he was doing but at 130mp that is some scary **** in traffic on a bike. For me the Porsche is perfectly comfortable at 130+ but I would be dam scared on a bike. I have raced some other bikes from a stoplight and they have beaten me before but barely but nothing the new EVO 700 kit won't cure.

Occasionally I use to race the bikes, it was fun to outrun them, but no more. At a light in town a M3 was racing a street bike and the bike could not make the turn about 1/2 mile up the road and lost control, slid under a parked car and died. They have the M3 driver in jail...don't know all the details, but I think the M3 driver has found a 2nd home. The bike's have the speed, but just don't have the build-in safety factor these 911 tts have.

I would suggest that at 130+on the street, the safety factor difference between a bike and a TT is not that much......not preaching.....just a thought...

The built in safety factor on a bike is called common sense and leathers.

Yeah right....in the tt, one is surrounded by airbags and an iron gage, there is nothing on the bike.
