Pics: Tech Art GT Street Wing & Latest Mods
Here is the car with the new wing and the Dension iPod interface fitted......thanks to Alex and James @ Sharkwerks for getting all the work done in a week and completed with their usual excellent craftmanship......these pics are not great, but may be Alex will post some of his own as he was busy with his camera as well.......if nothing else this will keep the car planted to the ground when it goes back for the EVT 700 power upgrade later in the year.
Our First BIG Tech Art GT Street Wing on a 690R...
Hey folks, so JT911's 690R came back in this week for a more tweaks, dension, V1 etc... and finally a Tech Art GT Street wing to complement his Type 1 kit. As us brits say, a 911 should be fast, loud and have a big-**** wing and this one sure does
Since this is the first wing I know of installed in these parts other than the CEC car for SEMA, I figured I'd let you guys know our thoughts.
Quality- as you'd expect from tech art, it's really, really tip top. The body shop didn't need to do a lot of sanding. The carbon is a nice touch (although we prefer to clear it). It's light weight as well.
Fitment- Straight on. Even the light fit in without any sanding/mods. Clearly the mould is perfect. Everything goes together so nicely and fits like a glove.
Size- DURAMAX
WINGLESS!

Open/inside:

I feel like I've just watched 48 hours of straight Ron Jeremy...

Side profile:

Weeny RS wing...

The word down-force comes to mind...

Ready for take-off...

See you for the 700-turbos shortly

It's a very controversial set up for sure. People seem to either love it or hate it... It's hard to tell from the pix but there are some really nice angles that you cannot see. One thing's for sure, as usual with Tech Art, it just fits
To be perfectly honest, I can't say I hate it or love it. IMO, the wing is way too aggressive for the current rear bumper, almost like it's an afterthought rather than part of the grand scheme. I bet it would look PERFECT with the super aggressive GT street bumper.

I absolutely LOVE the Type II kit on white car now! But after 5 minutes with my local TechArt dealer I learnt that the kit requires extensive CUTTING of the body of the car and thats just WRONG IMHO!
