Correct, yoiu can only expect a better sound out of this muffler. Sheez...The best part was the engine stuff and the types he was throwing around as if I have not done or have these things. I could have walked around taking pictures but thought...forget it. Not worth it.

BTW Gene, I am working on picking up a 10K miles 993TT that we are in the middle of finishing a 3.8 conversion to. It supports GT3076s and full EFI as soon as I can get one more motor completed and a EFI conversion running and tuned. .

The 70mm kit is for the big turbo kits that we will introduce in time. For a car with all the bells and whistle and the stock turbos you will loose low end performance and it is best to stick with the version I been ruuning.

The exhaust is complete. I also have tips if you ar eintrested. (used as well)

Stephen,

At the risk of starting an aracerx exchange, can you elaborate on what power level you think 70mm is required?

At 700+hp on the 997TT we have not seen any improvement over a 2.5" outlet. We tested up to 3". 70mm is 2.75".

Just curious what you have seen.

I do agree that a 3" all the way through system is overkill for these power levels and contributes to lag and torque loss, but a 2.5" outlet at the tip has proven to be more than sufficient for big power on our dyno. Our system is 3" (76mm) from the cat outlets to the tailpipe inlets.

(BTW, we have found that diameter immediately after the turbo has the most effect on lag and torque. We run 3.75" tubing between turbo and cat to provide maximum cross turbine pressure drop).

LOL, oh I am sure the peanut gallery will hijack this thread as well.

What I have seen thus far is we really start to bottle neck and create more BP at or around the 590AWD mark. The 70 MM helps to open that up and I will be happy to post the difference in BP and HP when the test are complete. What is evident is what we both have pointed out is the down low response on a 70MM with stock turbos is creating a sluggish response and added lag. The new system is 70MM all the way through so even the tail pipes and the cats had to change. . I haven’t tried reducing the outlets and leaving the inlets larger. May be something worth while to try. <O
