Time to start the mods

OK, the car is just a week old and I have some plans to start modding in the next few weeks. I have some questions though and since I am new to the P car world I was hoping that I could receive some input on my ideas. To start here is the car:

I am planning and doing a set of wheels and the front runner are the HRE P40's in black but the first issue is whether the gloss or matte finish is better. I like matte but am afraid that it will be too dull or take away from the car. What finish?? (I have tinted the windows already) Also, I am leaning towards the 20's since I do not track my cars.

Second, I would also like to lower the car. How low should it go and who is the best for springs? I will have the dealer install and align. I like the red TT that is in the other thread and would like to be at the same height.

The rear spoiler... I love the cargraphics GT spoiler but cannot find a price anywhere. Would carbon look good with the wheels? My inclination is to do the carbon wing, a Werks 1 front splitter and rear diffuser in carbon and maybe a few other choice niblets (if I could ever get a price on the werks stuff!) Any ideas on what and how much??

I will probably start the exhaust and intake/ecu upgrades after the 2000 mile break in is over. I am open to suggestions though. I would like a good tone without resonation.

Thanks for any help you can give.

I second the PSS10's. They are height adjustable providing flexibility in ride height, and take the factory handling and ride to another level. If you are going with black wheels, I'd get gloss black.

Vic55's red TT you are referring to is absolutely stunning https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...d.php?t=115169 . Definitely one of my favorites.

Here are some people to talk to.

http://www.roadsportsupply.com/ They are the Cargraphic Distributor in the U.S. Ask for Mike or Geoff. Tell Them I sent you. I'm sure they will hook you up.

http://www.awe-tuning.com/ Great Exhaust note. Not too loud at low RPM. Clean and crisp at high RPMs. Ask for Mike.

I'd go textured matte black on the wheels - and don't forget ECU tuning...

For engine mods: Protomotive ECU, Exhaust and Air filters..Get Proto Intercoolers instead of headers!!

7 replies, 5 different answers. I'm glad we have a consensus here on 6speed.

Why not just drive the car for a few thousand miles...You'll never be able to experience the full capabilities of the car until after the first few thouand miles...after that, you'll know what things you want to improve upon.

"drive the car for a few thousand miles" ? You need to know Brett. How long did you have that Z06 Brett? Brett wants it all NOW! (a philosophy to which I subscribe).

Probably stating the obvious but the cheapest and easiest to do are clear side marker lights. It may be the only mod just about everybody agrees with.
