I had it listed at $79K but got no bites. Do you guys think that $69K is a fair price?

What year model is the car and then check ebay motors and other similar sites for a going price and I think that this would give you a fair idea of what it worth minus the upgrades. car Looks great.......
Since you asked...
yes, that's going to be quite a tough go for an 04. You do have some nice mods, but that's pretty tough to tell buyers that they'll need another 5 or 6 grand for the wheels you're showing on the car. Your car has great miles, but I've got to assume it's out of warranty based on time. And there are a ton of cars in the marketplace. Also, now that it's approaching 5 years old, have you given any thought to how tough it's going to be to get aggresive financing on it? It may not concern you, but I guarantee you it's going to be on most buyers minds. In today's used car market, timing is everything--and since the timing is not the best (warranty, marketplace, new car in the port), your numbers are going to have to be pretty agressive. Any number with a 6 in it is, in my mind, pretty far out there for an out of warranty 04. Just my useless .02, considering that I've lost tens of thousands of my own dollars learning....And BTW, good on you for avoiding any rants about it being in the for sale section...

Frankly I'm not surprised it's still available, I saw your ad when you originally posted it and it's not the car that's the problem. The first thing that came to mind was your car will never sell with those pics. Just my .02 here but if you had it detailed and took nicer photos the car would be far more appealing and possibly pull the right buyer. The car looks rough in these photos and even if it's in great condition, the photos say otherwise. Consider it an investment.... have it detailed and take photos in afternoon light, anything but high noon then try it again. G/L with the sale..... very nice car but bad for sale ad.

the problem is when it comes to SLs most buyers are really looking for any more performance over the standard car (which is pretty damn fast to begin with). That being said I've seen some high mileage 2003 SL55s price in the 40k range, and even a lot of pristine cars in the 50k range. Additionally the market seems overly saturated with SL55s since may are coming off lease now and most buyers are just trading the cars in so they can upgrade to the next gen model.
You're asking price doesn't seem bad at all considering the money that's been put into the car, but it's definitely going to be a tough sale.
