Muffled or Bypass?

If bypass gives more power, why aren't everyone going for them?
what is the down side of bypass exhaust? too loud? poor mileage? what is it?

I personally would love a loud exhaust, but I need something that has a high distinctive pitch, so far I've not seen an exhaust I like, possibly leaning towards the Awe bypass or the Fabspeed bypass either way.

my last question and often ignored most of the time is, possibly the biggest newbie question...
I've seen alot of Ferraris but not many Porsche around so I do not know how loud it is at idle, and at high RPMs, is it comparable?

Thank you in advance for any input is a appreciated...

Wink Muff By-pass

I have a set of muffler by-pass pipes , not too loud for me but my neighbors here me from several blocks away...

Gee-Bee

Easy on and off , it's easier if you have a extra set of tips for the bypass pipes , this will even save more time....

bypass is too loud..not for everday use.. you can do a cat bypass only, its also loud and daily-use friendly

Muffler bypasses are extremely loud. Eliminating catalytic converters will cause check engine lights and fail emission inspections. You can screw up a $130K+ car for any kind of normal driving for only a few hundred dollars. The upside of these modifications is that they can easily be removed.

Cool ?

Excuse me Micheal ?

Do you have a 997TT ?

Do you have a Fabspeed or AWE System ?

We were talking about Muffler By-Pass pipes not Cat By-Pass Pipes

Cat-Bypass work great also and if you have your ECU for racing there will be no CEL'S

Please dont chime in here if you dont have any of the above...

I have no problem's with my muffler By-Pass Pipes

Straight pipes don't necessarily make more power.
