My Mods Suck!

Alright, I am pissed about my mods. My buddy who has exactly the same setup dynoed his car today on AWD or mustang dyno. He called me up after he was finished with the dyno and was pissed off. Apparently the mods made his car worse and the HP figures were showing stock numbers. The mods we both have are Fabspeed exhaust and intercoolers and DTE for the software. DTE is a German company and went with them because who did our mods was a distributor for them. I had never heard of them until I went to this shop. Anyways, the person who did the dyno knows for a fact it is our software and not the exhaust. The numbers they got was an average of 380 whp and 410lbs of torque in sport mode, the best number they got was 385 hp. I called the shop who did our mods right away and gave the feedback. Of course he was surprised and told me all the cars he had done with the same mods were making great power. He thinks whoever is performing the dyno is doing it wrong. My buddy and I are going to call him tonight to discuss this furhter. I am thinking of just asking for my stock setup back. Would appreciate any of your feedback.

I'd bet the new intercoolers aren't helping!

Why people get some unknown tune on their $140k Porsche is beyond me... at least be thankful that you got low power instead of engine detonation

Yes it more like dyno people's problem.

I dynoed on mustang 2 weeks ago.Stock ECU not tuned,with 200cellcat exhaust+header+bmc filter+IPD only.433AWHP.

Just with fabspeed exhaust you shouldnt get a 380?Is your buddy's car in well condition?I mean the engine is perfact? How many miles the car had done?

Here is an update. Firstly let me correct myself on what mods I have. I had mentioned intercoolers, but what I meant are intakes. Please bare with me as I am not as technical as some of you are on this site and thats why I am seeking your advice. Both my friend and myself had a concall today with our tuner. My buddy gave his feedback on what he saw. The tuner was very open to our feedback and was not defensive at all. This is actually the first dyno he has seen with the DTE chip. He had a lot a questions and ended up calling the person who did the dyno. We are going into his shop on Monday to run some more tests. Good thing is this guy is willing to work it out. He even said if we still are not happy that he will give our stock ECU back with no charge. I will let you know what happens on Monday.

Fabspeed intakes are viewed with skepticism here. You are better off with the factory airbox

The stock box already flows more air than the engine can use.

Wait until some of these guys start using MAHA dyno's, then the crying will really start...
