ouch!!

Hopefully its just the bumper that needs to be replaced? Important thing is your safe and unhurt(?) and to remember that it's just a car and that it can be repaired.

Oh man... not a nice way to start the day. Luckily from the one pic you're showing it doesn't _seem_ like it'll be too bad... Get a "Euro" rear bumper (without the bumperettes) if you can...

It's awful but looks easily repairable . The person who bumped you just gave you another reason to keep that car and drive it into the ground .

I'm sad just looking at the photo and despite all the benefots of this not being a worse case scenario --it doesn't minimize the stress and inconvenience .

Hang in there...

Man that sucks. I hope you are okay. I know the car can be fixed but you might also want to explore a claim for what insurers refer to as diminished value. I cringe at the thought of something similar happening to me. The important thing is that you are okay.

sorry to see that chris-i got hit by a cab driver who could hardly speak a word of english when i was at mt sinai-i was in med school at the time and he also got my rear bumper of my chevy-i know you must be pissed off big time, but it will look as good as new when fixed-it just pisses you off that the a-hole runs a light and ruins your day. as you know, things could be much much worse. just fix it and keep on driving it.

Sorry to hear it. I hope the fix goes well for you and your baby is back as good as new soon. But aggravating as hell I'm sure. Seems like no matter how careful you are, there is always some idiot out there gunning for you.

Just the bumper cover, in NYS they don't have diminished value according to my insurance co (usaa). They also said NYC-MTA and NYPD/FD have immunity from any claims.
Anyway, the adjuster is coming out Monday, then I'll just have the dealer take care of it, hopefully they can just order another cover, paint it then call me to pop in and get it installed. Won't lose any time that way.

make sure the bumper support is covered too - it may very well be damaged. I also vote for the euro bumper cover. Keep this old one the dent should pop out.

Damn Chris, sorry about the bumper. Given our friend Mayor Bloomberg has turned most avenues into F1 courses with the turn and bicycle lanes and random floating middle-of-the-street sidewalks I'm afraid us sensible people have to be even more vigilent of the loonies.
